I find it really charming that Judah was awake in his bed an hour past bedtime singing "Do, a deer, a female deer, raaaaay a dwop of goeden suuuuuuun!" Lonnie and I got up to listen outside his door. The song suddently morphed into Lonnie's Invader Zim/cheer up the boys at the dinner table song: "Boo-baba-joo-baba-joo-baba-jooo-baba-joo." Lonnie went in. "Hewwo, Daddy. How are you?" Lonnie returned to tell me Judah wanted to talk to me. I went in. "Hiiii Mommy. What sound...a window make? ... What sound a door make? ... What sound...couscous make? Where'd the couscous go?" Etc etc.
Amazing.
Here's something else...he has taken to calling us Yonnie and Kewwey. He's not trying to be saucy, he just figures those are our names, just like Nana's name is Nancy and Popop's is Mick.
I took the boys for nachos and drinks at Kopi yesterday, because they were sooo stir crazy and yet it was rainy outside. Judah was intoducing himself to everyone who came near us, and when the server came to our table, Judah said "chocolate, peas." The server: "Well! We have lots of chocolate. Would you like a chocolate milk?" Judah: "Yes." He ordered his own drink, lol. Wyatt enjoyed licking bean dip off the chips. We then proceeded to the toy store, since Judah has been asking to play with Mr. Pete, one of the guys who works there. They played with a spaceship together for awhile, then we left tantrum-free. Yay.
This morning, Wyatt is wandering all over the house. Praciticing walking is his new favorite thing. He's getting really good! I found Judah in the living room. "Yook, Mommy! Judah made a tower!" And that he did! A really awesome villagey-looking setup. I brought him some vitamin C tabs, since I am sick as a dog this morning. He said, "Judah yikes vitamins a yot!"

"More Kwisty, Peas"
Well I have a TON to do, but first need to sip some coffee and write this down while the boys are stationary (Sesame Street is our new morning habit).
Judah had his last visit with his Occupational Therapist yesterday. She's been seeing him for a year, and has watched him grow into a friendly, verbal little boy. Kristy was always quite good with him, and would interpret for him or defend him when other therapists came to 'assess' him. She says that he's quite smart and will do well in school and that he already knows what most kindergarteners do, lol. Now if we could only get him to balance the checkbook... So towards the end of Kristy's visit, Judah wanted to show her his Easter basket. Then, of course, he wanted to eat some candy. I told him that he could have candy after he was done playing with Kristy. He thought for a second, then said, "Byyye, Kwiiisty!!!!" He proceeded to sing the "Clean Up" song and put all her toys back in her bag for her, then handed her her jacket. It was hysterical! He watched her walk to her car, then shouted "Kwisty come BACK! More Kwisty, peas!" Anyways, it's been interesting trying to explain to a 2 year old that we're moving to a new state and won't be bringing our loved ones from Chicago with us. He's very excited to move to Minnesota (sometimes pronounced "Minnecago" or "Micago" but he corrects himself, lol), and talks about it all the time. /Sniff.
In other news, Wyatt is on the move, but still so snuggly. He had a good time playing with his cousin Aria, who turned 1 on Sunday, with one minor hiccup of too much spicy Indian food. His Easter outfit was ruined and he had to romp around in a diaper the rest of the day at Aunt Bev's. Judah enjoyed playing with Aedan, who is about his age (2nd cousin). They were adorable together, and would sneak off to play together and eat grapes or who knows what else. I'd never seen Judah be so interactive with a kid his age before, so that was fun. He's been asking to play with Aedan ever since.
Well there are plenty more stories, but I need to get stuff done. If you want to see some pictures from our Spring so far, go here:

Recognizing the Obvious
It takes some self-control to be willing to see your situation objectively instead of assuming the worst. Wyatt was sick all of last week, and is still recovering. He's been much more chipper the last two days, and is really walking up a storm. Judah is now quite sick, so I think his terribad behavior starting last Thursday may have been due in part to his coming down with a cold. My exhaustion due to all of this may also have a cold to thank, which is now full-fledged.
Thankfully, yesterday afternoon and evening were quite good. The boys were so cute at the park. Wyatt was so determined to walk everywhere. Maybe he's finally motivated! Judah was telling the big kids to get down off the train or they would fall. Lol. He is also...FINALLY...independently going down the slide over and over again. He used to HATE the slide. I remember a time when I left the park crying because all the other kids his age were having a blast, and he just cried the whole time b/c it was too much. Now he's the one giggling and running around having fun. It's so good for him :-D.
Due to the sicky, I turned on Toy Story for the first time ever this morning. Judah sat through the whole thing, even forgetting to eat the pancake that was in his hand. I guess he liked it!

A Reminder
Here's a reminder to all those parents of little people, and to myself as well, that there are easy weeks, hard weeks, and really hard weeks. We've had a really hard couple of weeks. I just got done telling Lonnie that our kids cry incessantly and what do we do to make them so unhappy, bla bla bla. Then I read some prior posts on my blog, and it seems that until recently, we've really been having a good time as a family. Sooo...hopefully this phase will pass like all the other ones eventually did. Life has a lot of stressors (esp. when getting ready to move) but the children's moods can make or break the whole thing.

Days like this...
So Ms. Mommy had a difficult morning and threw a few tantrums herself. I didn't sleep well, and the boys were up and crying for breakfast at 6am. Nothing we did seemed to stop the whining, so it just kept coming for hours and hours and hours...okay I'm being a little dramatic. But...being patient is a daunting task on mornings like this, and I'm sad that I wasn't very successful. Anyways, Judah caught me shedding some tears of frustration and walked up to me, looked into my eyes, and gently said, "Mommy, don't cw(r)y. Don't be sad, Mommy. I wuv you."
OOOOOOOHHHHH...my.
OOOOOOOHHHHH...my.

That's Daddy's Job
Thank you, dear Sesame Street, for allowing me to drink my morning coffee lukewarm, instead of cold today. Lonnie was gone most of the weekend, so I am WIPED!!! And now Wyatt is not feeling well. He woke up at 6am today looking quite congested and miserable. I am pleased because it's the first time this boy with immune system problems has gotten sick in the past...2 months-ish. Which is good for winter! I set him up with a bubble bath to help relieve his breathing, and of course Judah wanted to join the party. I sat down at the kitchen table to eat some breakfast, but soon after heard "Oh no! That's poop! Wyatt! No poop in the tub!" Oh dear. So I ran in, and the thing was still on it's way out, and he was standing up so it hadn't touched the water yet. I quickly pulled out the training seat and let him do his job on the big potty, lol. I think it's funny that Judah is the one we're trying to convince to go in the potty, and he was standing naked outside the tub asking for a diaper while his little brother sat on the toilet. So I asked Judah to go get his diaper from under the bed. He made it to about 5 feet away from where they were, and starting crying. He wanted me to get it because that's mommy's job.
He has started saying this in various situations. He and Lonnie were playing with trains on the kitchen floor the other day. Judah wanted the tracks to be set up, so Lonnie handed two to him and asked him to connect them. Judah made a pouty face and told Lonnie "I'm too (l)wittle. That's Daddy's job." Haha!
One of my favorites from this week is listening to Judah attempt to sing "Skiddamarinkydinkydink skidamarinkydoo, I love you." He doesn't quite pull it off... ;-D
On one of the glum weather days last week, I put on a Disney Oceans movie. Judah was engulfed (haha, get it?) with it right away. But THEN the stingrays came. He jumped off the couch, ran up to the screen, and started introducing RayRay to all his friends. Every few minutes a new creature was featured, and he would excitedly ask me "What's that?! What's that?! What is it?! What's that?!" "Judah, listen to the man, he will tell you what it is. Shh..." Haha it was so cute.
I can smile about it now, but last night as I was in exhausted mode before the boys' bedtime, and trying to Skype with my parents, Judah found herbal cough syrup and dumped the WHOLE thing out on the floor. It got all over his shoes, which he then removed and began licking vigourously (it has honey in it). I told him that licking shoes is yucky. He supposedly didn't hear me, or even pause. He just went to town on those things, so I had to take them away. Later he was sitting in a corner with something else the syrup had spilled on, and licking that to death, too. Cough syrup = catnip for toddlers.
