Well, I'm not sure where to begin. It has been a few weeks since the last post, and the idea of typing out every little thing that I made a mental note to record but soon turned into foggy recollection seems daunting. So I'm not going to try :-D Here is what comes to mind (easily) from lately land...
Judah has the option of graduating from speech therapy. He actually tested ahead of his age...which is such a refreshing change for a mommy who worries about him too much! The kid has become a little motor-mouth. His therapist and I agreed that some of Judah's "issues" are probably more to do with a stubborn-ish/observer personality. He will try something when he's good and ready, and he'll talk and sing his songs when he feels like it. She was trying to get him to identify colors today (which he has been a pro at for many moons), but unfortunately he is starting to pick up on adults' attempts to get him to perform. So he'd give her a sly look and identify a blue object as red, a white object as blue, etc. Later he pointed to her and said, "That's Patsy! Hewwo, Patsy! /giggle-giggle" But yeah, she went through about 45 minutes worth of testing and he aced it all. This from the kid who was saying maybe 4 words around March of last year. Go, Judah!
In other Judah news, he has pooped in the big potty a few times. He also spent a week vacationing with my parents in Wisconsin. We missed him a lot, but it turned out to be good timing for him to be gone since Wyatt was teething like nobody's bizness.
I attended a birth last week that was both serene and arduous. Talk about a marathon labor! It was really rewarding to see that baby finally make an entrance, and the elation on his parent's faces.
Wyatt is WALKING! Well, sort of. He thinks walking is a silly game, not a necessary life skill. So he'll walk a few steps and then go right back to crawling or cruising or pushing. This kid climbs stairs, bookshelves, and refrigerators, but for some reason does not want to walk all that much.
Wyatt's most commonly used words: Baba (for mama and dada), Goodah (Judah), Hi, Bye, Eyes, Deat (eat), Gawk (walk), Done, Cai (car), Duck (duck or dog), Tee (tree)...and he's beginning to mimic a lot of other words. Fun!
We are moving in two months. Yes, folks, it's REALLY happening. This frightens us. In many ways we are perfectly content to stay in our comfort zone. Yet, the timing seems good because my sis will be having a baby just after we get to MN, and my grandpa is having health problems so it will be good to be close by. We will probably live with my parents for a little while until Lonnie finds a job/is established in a job, then look for loans and look for homes in areas with decent schools. This will definately be an adventurous; challenging year (for my poor parents, too :-P).
There is so much to do.
